We have had the worst start to winter here in the UK for 30 years. Dropped to -10 last night in my area. I have this felling it's going to be a long hard winter for our trees, fingers crossed they survive.
Yes, that much of snow this soon is also unusual for our region. But unlike you I'm not worried for the survival of my trees. Besides, the snow provides good protection from the wind and low temperatures, and it waters the trees.
