Another working weekend

Saturday was once more a day to work on bonsai. First a few last repottings of the season and then some restyling of a neglected Chamaecyparis.

Next were the first steps in styling a mugo. It continuous...

And on Sunday I did some work on two big Taxus trees.

Dogwood in final pot

In January at Noelanders Trophy I finally found a propper final pot for this dogwood (Cornus mas), which I got in a trade in 2011. The pot is made by Klika.

Here is the tree as I got it.

And a drawing I made a few days after I got the tree. Pretty close to the present shape of the tree huh? :)

Decidious

Today I visited My good friend Jože again. We were working on some of his decidious bonsai in the making. Manely we were removing old wire, placing mew one and did some major cut back to make the branch structure better.

The first one was a privet (Ligustrum)

Second a wild cherry (Prunus mahaleb)

And finally a smokebush (Cotinus coggygria). Sadly I don't have an after photo of this one.

Mugo cascade

After some time I had to work on this smaller mugo cascade again. It needed some refurbishing. Taking the old wire off (it was still the first wire I ever put on this tree) and removing the old needles. I actually did that already one month ago.

A few days ago it was finally time to give this bonsai it's final pot by Klika. Next year the tree will be wired again and ready for exhibitions.

Mame forsythia

I have had this one for 5 years now and every spring it is flowering crazy like this.

With full speed ahead

These few past days have been crazy. So much work I can't even see myself out of it. No time for writing new posts on my blog. But when this intense time os over I will bring you on to speed and tell you what I was up to.
