EBA 2012, Ljubljana

The weekend was reserved for the biggest bonsai event in Slovenia so far.It was time for the European Bonsai Association exhibition. There were about 90 bonsai exhibited from 11 European countries. There were also 8 diferent trading stands.

On the photo below you can see a part of the exhibition shelves with a projection of my thuja smaragd which was exhibited at the last EBA in Germany.

You could also see two of my trees on the exhibition.
The first one was a chinese juniper.

And the second an azalea.

For my juniper I recieved one of the six given awards of merit.Looks like I'm on a good way. Super!
By the way, thanks to all for your congrats.

Most of the visitors were extremelly surprised and happy with the organisation and exhibition overall.

Before the weekend

The past weekend was realy tiredsome.  But on the other hand it was one of the best ones ever.

Let me start at the beginning. It all started on Thursday when Tony Tickle came to my place, where he was staying till Sunday. We spent the time left before EBA on Saturday on hiking in the local mountains and valleys. Besides that there seemed to be no end to bonsai descusions.

A big one got small/-er

Today I transplanted a maple I got in 2007 in a tree nursery from one pot to another. Since the tree is already growing strong, I didn't cut almost any roots.

 Two years ago.

Today. In the future I will have to plant this maple more to the center of the pot. This time the roots didn't allow mo to do so.

Some time ago this one was for sale, but now I'm not so sure anymore :-)

UBI - Arco

This weekend there is one of the main events going on in Italy. Actually this time there are two of such events joined in one. The Congress UBI and Arco trophy. The event is happenning in Northern Italy at the big Garda lake.
Was all worth going there!
