Easter workshop

The past Saturdey the second workshop of the year took place. And once again we all had a wanderfull time.

Yesterday some bonsai friends payed me a visit.

Yamadori feeling fine

Look's like most of last and this year collected yamadori will survive. Yey!

One less

I am starting to belive what others say, that communis' are difficult to be capt alive. This spring a communis of mine died for no reason.


The needles were compleetly dry.

Larix today

Busy one year

It is a busy year behind my big hornbeam. After I shorthened it a year earlier, in 2009 and then dug out last spring, I finally begun working on it. It all started with primary branch selection, continued with the carving of the stump and ended with wiring.

The work on the deadwood is far from being finished. I will continue with the work on it next year. Then it will be dry and it will be much easier for detailed work.

At the end I applied some cut paste on the wounds.

The making of a shohin larch

Today I transplanted a shohin larch that I dug out last summer - I just wanted to test if it will be succesfull - adn I cut the major branches. Well, it's alive.
Next year comes the styling of the crown and maybe the repotting into the final pot.
